2021 in review: YouTube edition

YouTube continues to be the most popular video platform out there and stands as the second-most popular search engine. Keep in mind, YouTube viewers watch over one billion hours of video on the platform every single day! We collected all our data to pull together some official statistics on what has happened on YouTube in 2021 (no YouTube Rewind's were hurt in the making of this infographic).

It's interesting to see that almost all the top 10 sponsored YouTube videos are challenge-based videos - leading to the conclusion that sponsored challenge-type videos rack up the most views and, according to the table, show amazing success (jot it down for the year to come). The brands that nailed influencer marketing via sponsorships? Brawl Stars and NordVPN.

In 2021, the top sponsoring brand according to the number of videos sponsored goes to...GFUEL. This brand sponsored over 12,000 videos and racked up 1667M views.

United States may have taken the number one spot in video output on YouTube but India came in a close second, followed by Brazil.

Throughout the pandemic, many many individuals dabbed into the world of content creation. From cooking to vlogging, there was a huge rise in new channels and niches and here are the channels that started in 2021 and ended the year with the highest subscriber count.

Kitchen with Amna launched their channel in August 2021 and already has a whopping 4M subscribers, that's insane! It's also interesting to point out that Cleo Alves who currently stands in the #3 spot only launched their channel in August 2021 and has already uploaded 110 videos.
