Integration vs Dedicated Video

Short Definition

An integration is a sponsored segment inside a creator's regular video, typically 60 to 90 seconds. A dedicated video is an entire video built around the brand. Integrations are the default YouTube sponsorship; dedicated videos cost more and are booked less often.

‍

Detailed Definition

  • Integration. The read rides on a video the audience already wanted to watch, so it gets the channel's normal views. It is the format most projected views and prices are built on.
  • Dedicated video. The whole video is about the product: a review, tutorial or story. It gives far more screen time, but it can draw fewer views than the channel's usual uploads because the topic is the sponsor.
  • Shorts. A third format with its own projected views and pricing. Always compare formats separately.

‍

When Each Makes Sense

Start with integrations to find the channels that work for you, then renew them. Consider a dedicated video when the product needs a demonstration that a 60-second read cannot carry, and when the channel has a track record of dedicated videos that held their views.
